USA After School Program
Urban Science Academy offers a number of activities during after school hours. Students can work with teachers for support and/or enrichment; they can participate in MCAS Preparation classes for ELA and Mathematics and be tutored by one of their peers just to name a few.
Most after school activities are run from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Some activities may run longer at the group advisor’s discretion. Student are encouraged to stay after school to enrich their learning experience and to broaden their horizons by getting involved in volunteer projects, Robot Club, Band and other activities that are available at USA. USA is also open to starting clubs that students request.
Finally, staying after school for some students, may make the difference in whether or not they are promoted. The after school program is available for students to take advantage of the “Attendance Buy-Back”. Students who have too many absences or tardies to receive grades for the term can use the after school time to reverse the NCs and so that they may get grades, course credit and ultimately be promoted to the next grade. The USA After School program fits the needs of students on various levels. Please encourage your student to attend.
